WHEN ALL THINGS APPEAR LOST

We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the Seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old." - Winston Churchill, June 4, 1940
Winston Churchill had just become British Prime Minister, most of the Nations of Europe had fallen like bowling pins to the Nazi horror and his Island was next. He would later write that this moment of Great Tribulation was their "Finest Hour". What is most striking was he actually looked forward to the fight, a fight that already appeared lost.
Exactly 1,800 days later, Nazi Germany surrendered on May 8, 1945. This is one of the great Lessons of History that Right will always win over might. 78 years ago, the greatest threat to World Peace and Democracy was extinguished.
Americans remember July 4, 1776 as Independence Day and the day the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. What most do not know is this is also the day British General John Burgoyne marched out of Nova Scotia with 25,000 Troops. George Washington had approximately 5,000 Troops, most of whom could hardly be called Soldiers. It looked bleak for the first Independent Nation in the New World.
It is mere coincidence that these two Events occurred on the same date. There is no way Burgoyne could have known what was transpiring in Philadelphia. He only knew he had crossed the Atlantic Ocean with 13,000 British regulars and 12,000 German mercenaries to crush the American rebellion.
Mother Nature and courageous American sharpshooters picked off enemy Soldiers one by one and by the time Burgoyne arrived at Saratoga, New York, 14 months later, the odds were roughly even. During a series of Battles in September and October 1777, Burgoyne's Troops proved they were no match for the Americans fighting on their home turf. Burgoyne surrendered to American General Horatio Gates on October 17, 1777.
This allowed Ambassador Plenipotentiary Benjamin Franklin to win support and aid from France, Netherlands and Russia. The tide had turned. What began as the impossible quest for Independence had become fortified with surprising Foreign backing and America became a viable Nation for the first time.
Almost exactly four Years later, on October 19, 1781, George Washington defeated Cornwallis at Yorktown. The defeat brought down Lord North’s Government in London. Great Britain sued for Peace and on September 3, 1783, the impossible Dream of American Independence became realized.

What's most noteworthy about America's Founders is that they not only knew they were making History, they were History. They somehow knew the outcome - as did Prime Minister Churchill during World War II - of the American Revolutionary War. No matter how dark the situation, they knew their cause was not only right, but their victory was necessary for the survival of the Civilized World.
These Great Men were on the verge of losing everything, they knew it and they persevered. Their Faith in the Creator was not disappointed, nor did they believe it ever would be. That is the point!!!!!!!
On Mother's Day in 2011. SVC was at the Truman Presidential Library and I was moved to begin My "Seeing God's Hand" Series in My SVC PPF Presentations.
The very first story I told was when I Graduated from the University of Oklahoma on May 6, 2000 and returned to Missoula. The Birchwood Hostel, where I planned to stay, had been sold and already gutted for renovation. I took all my luggage back to the Martinsen storage unit and prepared to spend my first night as a homeless person. In the light of the setting Sun, I saw the original Incorporation Papers for the Sutton Viewpoint Center just sitting there in the dust and remembered my first Wife Patti's Prophecy that SVC would be My Greatest Legacy.
SVC's beginnings are hardly inspiring, but the result 24 Years later is. On May 19th, 2000, I opened the i-won e-mail account that would carry the first e-SVC INTERNATIONAL VIEWPOINT. My eyes still well up when I think of the moment when I created that account, 18 Years exactly after Alicia had been born. I remember the searing emotional pain I felt when remembered all I had lost almost 15 Years before - My First Family - and this was all I could to do to Commemorate SVC's First Children's Day and My Little Girl's Birthday.
There were only 43 Recipients of the first e-SVC VIEWPOINT 34 days later and only one Participant of the very first SVC Public Policy Forum on July 3, 2000. Now, over nine billion emails receive SVC's e-Magazine twice a Week; SVC averages nearly 150,000 Participants each and every PPF and nearly five billion Viewers see it on SVC-TV and SVC-TV International Worldwide.
During SVC's coverage of the Coronation of King Charles III, our Family learned a great deal more about own Heritage in the United Kingdom's History than we knew previously. We knew the Sutton Family was Descendant from William I, the Conqueror, and that he had been Coronated at Westminster Abbey on Christmas Day 1066. He was the second King Coronated there, Charles III became the 40th Monarch to be so.
The greatest mystery solved was the identity of Adela of Normandy, Countess of Blois. According to some accounts, she was a Catholic Nun and our Family couldn't possibly be descendant from The Conqueror through her. It turns out Adela was a Catholic Saint, not Nun and she had ten Children with Count Stephen II of Blois just as her Parents had.
I was very touched to discover Adela was the Conqueror's favorite:
"She likely made her debut in 1066 or 1067, raising the possibility that she was the first of her Father’s Children to be born after he was King. Described as beautiful and very learned, she was reportedly her Father’s favorite. One chronicler recorded:
'She surpasses her Father in her appreciation of poetry and her knowledge of books. She rewards the merits of poets, she has critical judgment, and she as her own store of songs and poems to dictate.'”
Like my 26th Generation Grandfather, I am very fond of both my Daughters. This description of Adela best fits Alicia because her Mother was a High School English and Literature Teacher and both just loved/love books. I was teaching Alicia how to read when I lost her at age three. Alicia is now a College Provost and a Member of King Charles' Privy Council in Canada.
The reason why I had to be a direct Descendant of William the Conqueror and Jesus had to be a direct Descendant of King David is to illustrate their Families great fall from grace and that the Creator readily resurrects fallen Dynasties to illustrate what IS possible if we serve the Creator!!!!!!!
The Lives Jesus led and I am leading is hardly what one would expect of and for Descendants of probably the two most famous Kings in Human History, but our impact on that same History was/is destined to be greater than our 26th Generation Grandfathers!!!!!!!
Throughout the five full days we spent in the UK, we all had the indelible impression that history had turned a very important page. Right now, the UK and United States are struggling to regain their once stellar reputations worldwide. This is key to world peace and prosperity.
I remember Time Magazine's Special Edition Commemorating the beginning of World War II when Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. With the continuing inaction of the Biden Administration regarding the American Criminal Opprobrium, darkness has fallen again. Just like in 1939, it did not come without warning, but that warning has not been heeded.
Just like Winston Churchill sought to lift a downcast nation to victory during World War II, those of us who have viewed the growing threat of organized terrorism know that it represents the modern Nazi horror. It is once again time to Celebrate these Victories of the Human Spirit. The SVC Education Celebration has been transformed into an International phenomenon precisely because of the messages it carries for all!!!!!!!
